THE HISTORY OF BRONXVILLE

British influence can be instantly recognized when traveling around Bronxville. This inspiration in terms of the design of the architecture and layout of the village has a direct connection to its past. In the early 18th century, the area was settled by British-Americans who had been granted access to the deeds. These new settlers belonged to two separate families, Underhill and Morgan families, who each set up their own establishments. Later on, the land was purchased by a millionaire who specialized in pharmaceutical practices that transformed what was once farmland into an affluent community where a number of beautiful homes that took advantage of the quiet, rustic feel of the area were constructed. Throughout the 20th century, more and more people began to move to the neighborhood and contributed to establishing a place filled with magnificently crafted homes and businesses that became a standstill within the town for years to come.
